KJH Cares Team Volunteers at Second Harvest

Members of the KJH Cares team were very pleased to volunteer at Second Harvest, spending an entire morning packaging over 300 bags of carrots to be redistributed to community partners and local food banks. Through this activity, the team learned more about the severity of food waste in Canada, the impact of the pandemic on the demand for food from local food banks, and the impact of food waste on greenhouse gas emissions. The team found the experience very gratifying and eye-opening, and felt proud in donating their time to such an important cause.

As food prices continue to rise in 2022, it is important now more than ever to support our local food banks and organizations like Second Harvest who are committed to redistributing food to those in need in our communities.
