Mike has more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian wealth management industry, backed by 35 years of mergers and acquisitions experience with Canadian retail stores. Mike acts as a trusted advisor on matters associated with succession planning and business transition, and he regularly advises on the broader issues of wealth management pertaining to estate, corporate structure, tax planning and family business valuation.

Drawing on his extensive business and technical knowledge, Mike offers a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to advising wealthy individuals and families. With a range of specialties, including advising pharmacy owners, family enterprises and more recently professional athletes, he uses his vast experience to identify and develop each client’s own personal road map to their unique financial goals.

Mike also works closely with professional athletes at various stages of their careers, providing preparatory and transitional life advice. He continues to develop and deliver programming designed to provide structure and guidance to professional athletes and their families.

Prior to joining KJ Harrison Investors, Mike, who graduated from the University of Toronto with a BSc in Pharmacy in 1980, enjoyed a lengthy career as a senior pharmacy retail executive with Big V Pharmacies, Shoppers Drug Mart and the Katz Group Canada. He subsequently earned his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designations, continuing to advise multigenerational family business owners and their families.

Mike is a regular contributor to several pharmaceutical industry publications and has published peer-reviewed papers and presentations for the Canadian retail drugstore industry. He continues to donate his time as a guest lecturer for several Canadian faculties of pharmacy and he is a co-author/section editor of the textbook Pharmacy Management in Canada. Mike has served on several not-for-profit boards and committees, including the Ontario Pharmacists Association, the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the London Pandemic Committee and the London Community Foundation. Currently, he directs his philanthropic efforts towards assisting young people and families experiencing challenges associated with mental health.

Mike and his wife spend time between their homes in London, Ontario and Devil’s Glen, enjoying a wide range of outdoor activities with their two adult daughters.
