A group of volunteers from the KJH team headed out to the Trails Youth Initiatives camp in Stouffville to lend a hand. Trails Youth Initiatives provides outdoor programs for vulnerable youth to build confidence through skills development, high school credits, bursaries and mentorship. The charity strives to improve emotional competency, social competency, physical and mental health, as well as academic performance and employability. Students are encouraged to return each year to further develop their knowledge and skills by taking part in the “Four Seasons, Four Years” program with the opportunity to move on to the “For Life” program in time. Many students are also given the opportunity to come back and work as leaders and pass on their new-found skills.

The KJH team spent a gloriously sunny day mowing lawns, sanding tables, cleaning trucks, and preparing the dining area and cabins for the summer season. Everybody remarked on the camp’s beautiful surroundings, which include forests, trails, a canoe dock, and a swimming area.

KJH Cares is proud to provide ongoing support to this life-changing cause. We know that the children who spend the summer at the camp refer to Trails as a second home, and we’re delighted to help make sure it is safe and clear for when they arrive.
